Abstract
The LIST Address Points contains the authoritative geocoded address points for properties in Tasmania which have been allocated a street number component. Properties are generally allocated an address geocode point that will correspond to the property centroid. Secondary addresses, within a property, can be allocated an address geocode that corresponds with the building centroid. The Address Points dataset is attributed with the Property Identifier Number (PID) and the official Tasmanian property address aligned to AS4590 standard.

Lineage Statement
Property addresses are allocated by Local Government and maintained against properties in the Valuation Information System for Tasmania (VISTAS) database. Street names have been matched from this database to the LIST road segments. These have been attributed with datum points and direction conforming to rural addressing. Originally an application was developed to place rural address points offset from the road centreline according to their distance. Checks ensured that the address point falls within the property polygon having the same PID. If required the point will be progressively moved in incremental steps up and down the road to a predetermined limit so that the measured distance falls within the correct property. The current address system has taken those original address geocode locations and migrated them into a new manual maintenance environment that allows for any assigned address to be recorded rather than just 1 address per property. This has allowed for retirement villages, farms with multiple dwellings & other complexes to have all their addresses recorded.
Lineage Description
Position Accuracy: Not less than 99.9% of Address Point co-ordinates will fall inside the property boundary for the specified address. Attribute Accuracy: Not less that 99.9% of address point attributes are correct. Logical Consistency: Data fields are correctly structured with all values placed in correct fields. Data conforms to AS4590-2017. Completeness: To date this dataset includes over 99% of all addressed properties within Tasmania and is updated on a Daily basis. The completeness of subsequent datasets will increase as cadastral parcel attribution and verification of the address information components continues.
