The State Road Casement has been produced by the Department of State Growth to assist local government in applying the Utilities Zone to State roads as part of the Tasmanian Planning Scheme. This layer is a guidance map only and may be subject to future minor modifications to refine the data. The Utilities Zone in draft Local Provisions Schedules is to be applied in accordance with the Guideline No. 1 – Local Provisions Schedule (LPS): zone and code application: http://www.planning.tas.gov.au/news/news_items/guidance_for_drafting_lps. The Utilities Zone will be subject to public exhibition, public hearings and assessment by the Tasmanian Planning Commission prior to finalisation.

The State Road Casement has been sourced from roads that are owned by the Department of State Growth and currently lie within the ‘Utilities’ layer of the Tasmanian Interim Planning Scheme Zoning overlay. The State Road Casement has been updated to include roads and portions of roads owned by State Growth that were not previously within the ‘Utilities’ layer, and land not currently under State Growth ownership that has been protected for road development by the Department in the future. The State Roads Casement includes the intended road planning and the current proclaimed boundaries of State Growth owned roads. The State Road Casement was selected by the Land Information System Tasmania (LIST) cadastre ownership parcels. Where required, cadastre boundaries were split to better represent ownership of roads and their intended future use. Where no casement was included within the cadastre, a buffer, or polygon, was used to create a casement representing road extents. Positional Accuracy: Information is accurate to within +/- 50m of the true position 90% of the time. Attribute Accuracy: Attributes are estimated at 90% correct. Please advise if errors found.
