Survey Locations Work in Progress layer holds points representing the locations of surveys of property boundaries that have been commenced by a Registered Land surveyor. The points are attributed with the type of survey, survey reference, estimated date of completion and surveyor or firm identity. Points are added by Land Surveyors at their discretion to alert other Land Surveyors of work underway in the vicinity in order for surveyors to more easily determine the origin of survey marks that haven't yet been included in a plan that is lodged with a registering Authority. This data is incomplete and may contain errors.

Survey Locations Work in Progress is an opt-in layer contributed by Tasmanian Registered Land Surveyors. Points representing the location of a survey of land that have been commenced are able to be created, edited and deleted by login users who have the access to survey search functionality. It's use is entirely voluntary and relies upon individual users for the data accuracy and integrity - there is no central maintenance by the custodian to remove redundant records or correct erroneous records.
