This layer was created as a part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA) Fire Management Plan. Fire management zoning is a high level tool to assist in fire planning. A number of zones have been recognised within the TWWHA for fire management purposes. Each zone has a fire management objective that matches the intent of the zone.

The Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area (TWWHA) Fire Management Zones dataset will be updated annually in order to reflect changes in known distribution of values or to reflect updated information on the fire-sensitivity and values of assets. Asset Zones are based on the Biodiversity Consequence Layer each bushfire season detailing critical infrastructure, PWS life, and human settlement areas that require protection. PWS life refers to areas where large numbers of people are likely to be congregated, such as Visitor Centres and hut and campsites on major walking tracks. All values data includes the Southwest Conservation Area.

Position Accuracy: Positional Accuracy is inherited from various data sources, which were used to delineate the TWWHA Fire Management zones. Sources include a range of asset data and vegetation mapping. Attribute Accuracy: Attribution is used to class each zone and the describe assets present. Zone attribution is derived from various data sources. Logical Consistency: Quality and logical constancy checks were performed to reduce any errors or omissions. Completeness: TWWHA Fire Management zones is confined to the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Larger water bodies have been excluded.
