Dam Permit Locations is created by Water (DPIPWE) from their internal WIMS database to show the locations that dam permits have been applied for. It shows the status of the permit (existing, expired, proposed etc), and if a dam has been constructed, contains pertainent information about that dam.

This dataset is constructed directly from the WIMS database using the grid coordinates held against each record. For more information, contact Water (DPIPWE)

Position Accuracy: The locations for these permit locations is derived from the X and Y coordinate information stored agaist the records. This coordinate information seems to have been captured as an approximate location only (rounded to the nearest 100m or so) and then later had a bulk shift applied to it to convert from AGD66 to the newer GDA94 coordinate system. Therefore the positional accuracy of this data is assumed to be in the region of ±100m. Attribute Accuracy: The attributes are 100% correct as to whats being stored in Water's WIMS database. Logical Consistency: As a part of the compilation / uploading process, self intersects and null geometries were removed from the source datasets, however, other topological and logical consistency errors may still exist. Completeness: The dataset is complete.
