LIST Topographic Basemap The LIST Topographic Basemap is a multi-scaled base for many diverse applications requiring topographic data, meeting the needs of most contemporary users. It allows users to view and overlay an extensive range of GIS information. The basemap is updated regularly from the best available LIST authoritative spatial data, and features 19 scale levels from 1:591,657,550 up to 1:1128. The LIST Topographic Basemap incorporates data from the following LIST datasets: - Address Points - Buildings - Cadastral Parcels - Coastline (MHWM) - Community Facilities - Contours - Hydrographic - Infrastructure - Landform - Locality - Nomenclature - Spot Heights - Survey Control - Transport - Vegetation Each scale level shows a different level of detail, attribution and annotation. The multi-scale basemap allows users to "zoom in" to the next scale level for further detail and information, or alternatively "zoom out" for a broader overview. Note: Macquarie Island has been compiled from data originally sourced from Geoscience Australia.

The LIST Topographic Basemap is built up using data sourced from many LIST authoritative datasets, combining data from these individual datasets to produce an end mapping product. All LIST spatial data incorporated into the basemap has varying maintenance schedules and levels of accuracy and currency. Position Accuracy: Positional accuracy can be obtained from the feature metadata record for each LIST dataset the LIST Topographic Basemap is derived from. i.e. Cadastral parcel accuracy information can be sourced from the LIST Cadastral Parcels metadata record. Attribute Accuracy: LIST Topographic Basemap is intended to be a spatial representation only. For any issues relating to the data that makes up the compiled basemap please refer to the individual dataset the data originates from. Logical Consistency: The LIST Topographic Basemap has been compiled from a number of source LIST datasets. No attribution has been included, it is intended as a base mapping product only.
