Have you had a chance to check out the new version of the BETA topographic basemap yet?

Earlier this year TASMAP asked its users of the new BETA LIST topographic basemap to indicate and comment on their preferences between the existing and proposed new version of the basemap.

With well over 100 responses and over 380 user comments it was an excellent tool for gauging stakeholder opinion and acceptance of the proposed new product.

Overwhelmingly the comments and user ratings were extremely positive and complementary towards the new basemap and the acceptance was very encouraging.

From analysing the results and comments, recommendations as to how best tailor the new basemap were compiled. These will ensure the basemap will continue to be the best product cartographically that will satisfy LIST user’s requirements and demands now and into the future. These recommendations have been investigated and an implementation plan formulated that will provide a staged implementation of these enhancements to coincide with the basemap update program.

The majority of these recommendations have been included in the latest update of the BETA version of the basemap, which went live this week, including the reintroduction of green space in an enhanced form.
