Compiled and checked in 1980s prior to conversion into the current format. Updated during migration into MRT's TIGER (Oracle) system to match Geoscience Australia station numbering. Includes contributions from government, university and private sector.

Positional Accuracy: ±500 metres in the worst case, generally at least an order of magnitude better. Modern data normally uses differential GPS. Attribute Accuracy: Generally 0.1 milligal or better. Data was accurate at the time of acquisition to the best available position and topographic control. Data have been verified for consistency with all overlapping datasets and 1:25,000 topography. Ongoing checking of existing data as new data acquired. Logical Consistency: Data have been verified for consistency with all overlapping datasets and, where possible, against 1:25,000 topography.. Completeness: Consistent coverage (1 km spacing or better) over most of west, north and eastern Tasmania; restricted coverage in central and southwest Tasmania.
