Unavailable area polygons are a combination of land not available under the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 and areas administratively excluded by Mineral Resources Tasmania as they are deemed incompatible with exploration or mining. Land not available under the MRDA includes: Game Reserves, Historic Sites, National Parks, Nature Reserves, State Reserves, Wellington Park, some Private Reserves and areas formally gazetted as exempt from the MRDA. Areas administratively excluded by Mineral Resources Tasmania include (but are not limited to): Aboriginal Land, Commonwealth Land, Ramsar Sites, Fossicking Areas, Fossil Sites, World Heritage Area, a coastal exclusion zone, a buffer along high pressure gas pipelines, and other areas, as determined by Mineral Resources Tasmania, which may or may not follow administrative or geographic boundaries.

Lineage Description |
Positional Accuracy:
The positional accuracy of the boundaries is dependent on the accuracy of the underlying data it follows.
Attribute Accuracy:
It is estimated that not less than 99% of attributes are correct.
Logical Consistency:
All data is topologically related, all polygons close and all polygons are labelled. There are no duplicates, but some areas are unavailable for multiple reasons and so there will be overlapping polygons.
