Abstract
Water Management Regions contains the 48 Water Catchment polygons that the 8 Water Management Regions are divided into. These Water Catchments are attributed with their catchment name and number, and the number of the Water Management Region that they form part of, and the CPR plan number. Water Management Regions support the administration of the Water Management Act 1999. The boundaries of the Water Management Regions are portrayed on Water Management Regulations 2000 Index Plan, CPR 5278. This index plan provides a reference to separate detail plans registered in the Central Plan Register for each Water Management Region. Catchment boundaries extend to High Water mark and generally follow watersheds. Water Management Regions are not intended to portray Tasmania's Water Catchment areas.

Lineage Statement
Water Management Regions were developed primarily to support the Water Management Act 1999. Catchment boundaries have been derived from watershed boundaries obtained from a number of sources but generally interpreted from 1:25,000 scale contour information. Seaward boundaries of catchments follow mean High Water Mark obtained from LIST hydrographic data sets. This dataset was originally compiled for the purpose of producing CPR plans to support the legislation.
Lineage Description
Position Accuracy: Water Management Regions have generally been derived from interpreted watershed boundaries using 1:25,000 scale source topographic information. They are to be regarded as an indicative portrayal only. King Island is not depicted in its correct spatial location. Attribute Accuracy: Attributes have been verified accurate to 100% Logical Consistency: Water Management Regions are topologically correct polygons. Each polygon is fully attributed according to the defined data structure. Completeness: Water Management Regions are completed for the State of Tasmania. Some of the Bass Strait islands may not be included in this dataset. Additional: www.dpipwe.tas.gov.au/water/water-licences/water-management-regions
