The LIST Water Management Plan Areas data layer shows the catchment boundaries for riverine and lake catchments that have a Water Management Plan drafted, adopted or in effect. Water Management Plans are statutory documents that outline the legislative water management arrangements for a catchment. Plans are developed using a formal planning process in consultation with the community and water users. The status of the Water Management Plan areas is current as of 1 December 2017.

The LIST Water Management Plan Areas spatial data layer was created by selecting catchment polygons from the Conservation of Freshwater Ecosystem Values (CFEV) Catchments or CFEV Sub-catchment data layers corresponding to the Water Management Plan Areas. Attribute data includes the name of the Water Management Plan, its status and the dates of when the Plan was drafted, adopted and when it took effect. Currency: The mapping and status of the LIST Water Management Plan Areas is current as of 1 December 2017. Completeness: The LIST Water Management Plan Areas data set is complete for all Tasmanian catchment areas where a Water Management Plan is in place or is being drafted.
