Mosaic image of the Simplified Geology map theme in the Tasmanian Landslide Map Series published by Mineral Resources Tasmania. Shows simplified geology over the Tamar Valley region â surficial and bedrock units.

A vector PDF of each map tile in the series was created then converted to a georeferenced TIFF image. A mosaic of these images was then created for the state. Images are current as to the date the maps were printed. The image was created from vector mapping whereby the surficial geology was separated from bedrock geology and substantially simplified. This allowed, amongst several advantages, for modelling of geology under waterbodies that would otherwise not be mapped.

Positional Accuracy: Positional accuracy to 1:25 000 scale. Attribute Accuracy: N/A Logical Consistency: The data has been visually checked. Completeness: All simplified geology maps in the map series have been included in the mosaic image. Currency of the map tiles will vary according to the printed date of the map they have been derived from.
