This mosaic is compiled from images of varying quality and from multiple time periods. Where possible, the highest-quality images are prioritized, meaning that older, more accurate imagery may be used over newer but lower-quality imagery if necessary. Higher-resolution digital imagery has since been captured across much of the state, with more frequent updates in densely populated areas. Less inhabited regions of Tasmania may have received fewer updates. As new, high-resolution imagery becomes available, older, lower-resolution analogue imagery is gradually replaced. Position Accuracy: Positional accuracy varies according to image and source. Individual image information can be obtained from the State Aerial Photo Index. Consistency: The orthoimagery creating the State Orthophoto Basemap is sourced from varying projects and over a wide timeline. Objects that cross adjoining imagery sets may not match and there may be a degree of colour and tonal variation throughout the coverage. Completeness: The State Aerial Photo Basemap is complete for all of Tasmania, excluding Macquarie Island, and is updated as new imagery is procured.
